Standard Operating Procedure Sampling of Purified Water

PURPOSE
It is established to provide the procedure for the sampling of Purified Water
SCOPE
This SOP is applicable for the sampling of Purified water sampled to check various chemical and microbiological attributes.
RESPONSIBILITY
Quality Assurance Inspector.
QC Analyst.
Microbiologist.

PROCEDURE

• For microbiological testing.
Pre sterilized and dehydrogenated flask /beaker is used for the water sampling
• For chemical testing:
Pre cleaned and dried flask/ beaker is used for sampling.

1. When reach at sampling site, turn on the valve /tap to flow the water for 1-2 minutes.
2. Put on the gloves.
3. Remove the aluminum cover from the flak /beaker near to the valve/ tap.
4. Rinse the sample container with water to be sampled by holding it from the bottom.
5. Take the quantity of sample and immediately cover the container with aluminum foil.

PRECAUTIONS

I. Avoid touching hands with water during sampling.
II. Take sample in minimum time to avoid exposure.

Following Records/ Forms would be generated and maintained accordingly.
• Request for Analysis of Water
• Certificate of analysis of water
