STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE Title: CHEMICAL TEST FOR ALUMINUM TUBES

1. Purpose:

a) It is established for aluminum tube testing

2. Scope:

a) This procedure is applicable to aluminum tubes.

3. Responsibilities:

b) Analyst

4. Procedure:

Prepare a 1% w/v solution of mercuric chloride in distilled water for aluminum tube testing.
Fill the tubes with mercuric chloride solution and shake it for exact 1 minute. Discard the solution and wash the tubes with water thoroughly.
Cut the tubes with cutter and place it for some time, it should remain clean and clear.
If the internal lining of tube is damaged it will react with solution and a white powder produced at the reactive site.
In case of production of white
